NAïVETé
If every single soldier
took his Mother off to war,
it would be the quickest battle
that was ever fought before…
the kindest sweetest Mother
would turn into something wild
should any sort of danger
pose a threat to her dear child.
There’s something in a Mother
that clicks in when baby’s born -
that tells her to protect him
and keep him safe from harm…
the female of the species
is the fiercest, so they say -
So take the Mothers with you -
you’ll be home within the day…

~~FRIENDS WITHOUT FACES~~
We sit and we type, and we stare at our screens
We all have to wonder, what this possibly means.
With our mouse we roam, through the rooms in a maze
Looking for something or someone, as we sit in a daze.
We chat with each other, we type all our woes
Small groups we do form, and gang up on our foes.
We wait for somebody, to type out our name
We want recognition, but it is always the same.
We give kisses and hugs, and sometimes cry
In Palace we chat deeply, and reveal why we hurt.
We do form friendships - but - why we don't know
But some of these friendships, will flourish and grow.
Why is it on screen, we can be so bold
Telling our secrets, that have never been told.
Why is it we share, the thoughts in our mind
With those we can't see, as though we were blind.
The answer is simple, it is as clear as a bell.
We all have our problems, and need someone to tell.
We can't tell real people, but tell someone we must
So we turn to the 'puter, and to those we can trust.
Even though it is crazy, the truth still remains
They are Friends Without Faces, and odd little names.

WHAT'S IN THE HEART OF A P.A.M. (or any Proud Military Mom)?
The ability to let your child walk out the door with the recruiter.
The patience to wait for those letters from basic and phone calls home.
The pride from seeing that first military uniform picture.
The excitement of that first leave.
The strength to face the unknown.
The courage to send your child into battle.
The love in a woman's heart for her country.
The friendship of finding other military moms.
The fun of laughing at jokes, eye candy, and kids' nicknames.
The delight of preparing your Adopt A Soldier box.
The security of knowing that others here understand your feelings.
The power of knowing you can punch a DS out if necessary.
The happiness that comes from discovering nationwide sisters!!!!!

Our Goodbyes
I packed her up & we said our Good-Byes, & waited for the tears, of a river, to cry.
Days went by & I worried that I wouldn't.
It hit at once & I cry even when I know I shouldn't.
My grandson asks me,"Where is my Trish, Grandbee?"
I look at him & cry, trying to stop, so he won't see.
I hug and hold him too tight, he notices my sadness & pats me saying,"It's alright."
I sit here and stare at my computer screen.
Waiting to get an e-mail or I.M. to talk to the Queen.
I feel so lost and all alone, waiting to hear Trish's voice on the phone.
I sit and wonder what she is doing & feeling.
Knowing she is filling her life with such meaning.
I watch the clock while laying in bed at night, trying so hard to remember, the reasons for the fight.
I lay & feel her in my soul and heart, wishing we were not soo far apart.
I can't help but feel, that if she were my son, my world would nfeel so undone.
I wake each day with a feeling of despair, knowing when I walk in her room, she will not be there.
Uncle Sam, hear my words, and remember them well.
My Daughter you have, Keep her safe from harm & treat her well!

Your Angel
I say another prayer for you tonight,
To keep you safe and free from fright.
Remember, I am with you all along.
When you get lonely and sad inside,
I am right beside you, feel my pride.
I pray the Angels make themselves known,
For they will give you strength & bring you home.
